"Marilyns (Dancing for Vladislav)", mixed media installation 2013/14. See video.

Marilyns (Dancing for Vladislav)
This work is a homage to the russian artist Vladislav Mamyshev-Monroe, who died in a swimmingpool in Bali, in 2013, it is still unknown if his death was an accident or, as some media suggest a political assassination.

Vladislav and I had been in e-mail contact, but unfortunately we never met.

The mixed media installation consists of a stage curtain made in silk and cotton pads, pictures of both Vladislav and me as Marilyn and Marilyn dancing with Carl Sandburg, a video performance, in which I try to bring forth spiritual forces, the released FBI records on Marilyn Monroe, an artist book with Marilyn Monroe’s six page letter to her psychiatrist and photographs of me as Marilyn + pencil quotes from Arthur Miller’s play “After The Fall”, in the headphones one can hear Kirsten Flagstad singing “Songs My Mother Taught Me”.
