I am (still) here
I started out doing paintings in my youth, abstract expressionistic ones. Since then I developed a love-hate relationship to painting. Now at the (tender) age of 50, I think it’s time to reconcile.
Back to painting, to oil paint, canvas and turpentine, subtle paintings with my fingertips dipped in a bit of oil paint marking the canvas with a touch barely noticeable or as a fleeting kiss from afar.
The title points to the experience of being traumatized, the alienation that estrange you from your own body and from other people, the feelings of not really being here.
