"Letter to Rabi", detail, 2011

Letter to Rabi
In 2011 did Doctors without Borders invite me to participate in an exhibition in Copenhagen, to mark the 30 year anniversary of HIV/AIDS.

The exhibition took place in the main hospital, Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen.

My work ”Letter to Rabi”, was a dialogue project between Rabi, a 13 year old boy from Nepal, born with HIV and me. I asked Rabi, if he wanted to draw his life, and one day 3 beautiful and vibrant drawings came into my life.

”Letter to Rabi” consists of the 3 drawings, my two letters to Rabi, the first letter which I sent to him after receiving the drawings and the second letter, which I will send to him, when he will become 18 years old. The work also includes a textile work, a Wikipedia explanation of The Other, a plastic box with a broken window, a VHS tape of Derek Jarmans film Blue and texts about each element in the work.
