Lifeboat was a collaborative project by Katinka Ahlbom, Johan Nobell and me in 1996 at Overgaden – The Institute of Contemporary Art, Copenhagen. Due to our “national identities” did we bring two cultural phenomena into play; the concept of “hygge” (a special term for coziness in Denmark) and “kanelbolle” (the Swedish cinnamon bun), creating two gigantic inflatable cinnamon buns, hand printed curtains, radiator covers and a wallpaper signalering that Scandinavian coziness is maybe not so friendly after all.
