Rising is a series of photos of my hand photographed by myself with my cell phone in the hospital.
The gestures go from the angry fist to the opening of the hand representing both a wounded masculinity and phallic representations. Phallic imagery symbolizes the masculine order, power and patriarchal structures in culture, while the low quality of the black & white images is in dialogue with forensic photos made by the police in order to investigate criminal acts.
