(Un)belonging is about trauma, healing, and mortality
(Un)belonging is about trauma, healing, and mortality. The photo shows the artist during an acupuncture treatment having 100 needles in his face, slowly transforming the body and mind to a more whole organism that is more connected to bodily and spiritual forces of energy, and therefore having a stronger affinity to other humans and the earth. The artist’s face is reminiscent of a death mask. A fusion of life and death takes place creating a moment of cohesion and maybe that is there we all connect with each other; that we are all born to die, someday, somewhere, somehow, even though death and dying has a wide spectrum of scenarios and experiences due to economics, bodily condition, human and spiritual belonging.
